Leadership Team


T.J. White - VP of Business Development
TJ brings 11+ years of experience to the Hatteras Search Group Business Development team.  He began his career at a large national engineering and IT staffing firm, and was responsible for growing the Charlotte market for the IT group.  During his tenure there, he developed some very long-standing relationships with clients such as Okuma, Day and Zimmerman, Wachovia, and Parsons Engineering.  He also began the RFP process with Bank of America, a contract which was awarded soon after.  

Following that success, TJ joined a consulting firm based out of Boston, with a more entrepreneurial approach.  There he quickly rose to become the number two producer for the company several years in a row.  He was successful in developing key accounts like Ingersoll-Rand and GE Power Systems and developing smaller, exclusive accounts like e-fuel and AccessCoverage Corp.  After four years tenure he moved on to another company out of Boston, with only one recruiter in Charlotte, and rose to the second highest producer in the company by the end of his first year, and remained at the top for three years.  TJ plays an integral part in business development teams in the staffing market, working with sales teams and independently to build strong relationships with his customers based on integrity and customer satisfaction.

TJ co-founded Hatteras Search Group in October of 2006 to bring back the trust and integrity that customers rely on from their staffing partners, to create a true and valued IT staffing partnership.  


Rick Foor - VP of Recruiting
Rick began his career in the staffing industry in 1995 as a Sales Representative.  There he honed his sales skills and developed a knack for understanding his customers and their needs and helped them develop national hiring programs.  From there, Rick went to work for a division of a fortune 500 company, staffing large engineering firms, and helping place hundreds of engineers.  Seeing where the market was headed, Rick quickly moved into an IT recruiting role.  He focused his skills on candidate relationships and built a large network of qualified candidates in the NC market.  

Rick then moved into a sales role with a national firm and his career flourished as he built relationships with managers at Cisco Systems, MCI WorldCom, Sony Ericsson, Bayer Corp, and Glaxo SmithKlien.  When Rick and his wife had the opportunity to move to Charlotte, they jumped at the chance.  He joined a local Charlotte team as a senior recruiter and made an immediate impact providing excellent recruiting skills and strong relationships with some of the most skilled talent in the country.

Rick co-founded Hatteras Search Group in 2006 because he knew the importance of building trusting and lasting relationships with consultants.  He understood that ultimately many of his consultants would become full time employees which would improve the satisfaction of his clients.


Mike Barry - Managing Director
Mike has worked in the IT consulting and professional services industry for 15 years.  He has successfully provided resources and project planning strategies to clients while fulfilling roles in Recruiting, Business Development, Branch Management and currently as Managing Director.  He has aligned with clients in industries ranging from finance, healthcare, energy/utility, retail, and government.  Mike has secured vendor relationships due to his proven ability to develop strategic plans, enhance sales and recruiting processes, and drive revenue growth.

Mike has consistently focused on developing and maintaining true partnerships with both consultants and clients, realizing the importance to truly understand their needs.  He believes that in order to be successful, "Hatteras Search Group must earn the trust and respect of our clients each and every day."  This back-to-basics idea of building solid relationships is why clients and consultants continue to do business with him over and over again.  

Mike is responsible for developing and expanding service offerings in key market areas within the Southeastern U.S.  He is also responsible for all sales, marketing, and strategic activities in the Charlotte, NC area.
